EXPERIENCE TRADITIONAL AND AUTHENTIC
COOKING CLASSES IN A VILLAGE STYLE KITCHEN--
What you will experience:
• A brief introduction of the "back to basics" kitchen and philosophy in cooking & eating at the Clay Pot
• Guests are then invited to taste herbal teas on offer with a piece of jaggery or bowl of kanthe (Sri Lankan green soup)
• Familiarization of ingredients to be used in cooking class (touch, taste, smell and see)
• Pick vegetables and other necessary herbs from the garden
• Scrape coconut to extract fresh coconut cream for the curries
• Grind mustard seed on a traditional grinding stone to make mustard sauce
• Experience first hand cooking in clay pots
• Enjoy the outdoors and the meal cooked by the group
And much, much more ……. come along and enjoy a half day in a Sri Lankan village atmosphere.
Minimum of 4 persons and maximum of 12 persons
Usually held on a Friday starting at 10.30 am and finishing with lunch at 2pm. ( Cooking Classes will take place only if the above numbers are present )
Able to conduct classes on other days if there are sufficient numbers
Price per person is $75.00 including recipes, ingredients and lunch with extra curries and dessert provided by us which are not cooked by the group
